Windows
We manufacture and install a comprehensive range of timber windows to suit any property. These include, but are not limited to, casement windows, stormproof windows and vertical sliding sash windows. We can match existing windows at your property or create something new.
Casement Windows
Casement windows are defined as opening sashes which when closed finish flush with the outside of the frame.
All of our casements feature are fitted with compression weather seals and can use either traditional ironmongery or modern multipoint locking systems.
Stormproof Windows
Stormproof windows are similar to casement windows. Opening outwards they are rebated over the frame externally. This rebate is fitted with a compression weather seal to ensure that absolutely no rain or wind gets in.
Fitted with either traditional ironmongery or modern multipoint locking systems.
Vertical Sliding Sash Windows
Sliding sash windows add an element of sophistication to any property . These windows feature two sashes vertically aligned and one or both of these sashes can freely slide vertically to allow for the very best airflow.
Our sliding sashes are available with both traditional weighted pulleys or spiral balances. The traditional weighted pulleys work by balancing the weight of the sash equally with a pair of lead weights suspended either side, hidden from view, within the frame of the window. Due to this the the vertical sections of the frame must be built as ‘box’. This is where the term ‘box window’ comes from. The other alternative is to use modern spiral balances, which are a white plastic tube which runs from the top of the frame down to the sides of the sash. These offer a more cost effective option. Another benefit of spiral balances is the sides of the frame can be a narrower section, therefore in the same sized opening more light will be let in with a window using spiral balances.
All of our sliding sash windows offer excellent weatherproofing using a combination of compression weather seals and brush seals.
A range of ironmongery is available. Normally supplied with sash lifts, sash fasterners and sash stops.
Glazing and Finishing
All windows are available in a range of timbers including but not limited to oak, accoya, sapele or softwood.
All windows are available painted in a colour of your choice or with a transparent finish, such as oil, to highlight the natural beauty of the selected timber. Paint is available either sprayed or hand painted.
Usually featuring 28mm double glazed units, but we also offer slimline double glazed units to allow smaller sash thicknesses, keeping the tradional look. We also offer triple glazing for increased energy efficiency. For heritage replacement windows we offer single glazing. Where appropriate glazing is fixed in place using glazing tape and beaded systems or for heritage single glazing we use a modern mastic based putty, which looks very similar to traditional linseed based glazing putty, but offers modern weatherproofing and energy efficiency.
We also offer an extensive window repair and restoration service, at an affordable rate.
